Druid Park Community Health Center/Miracle Making Ministries

Miracle Making Ministries opened the Druid Park Community Health Center as a branch of the Zaccheaus Project. This clinic’s mission recognizes the importance of providing primary health care services to the under- and uninsured population.

The mission of the Zaccheaus Project is to provide quality primary health care to low-income, uninsured and under-insured individuals. We have provided outpatient care to thousands of patients in our mobile operation; we are now able to move to a permanent place through the generosity of University Hospital, Project Access, and The Community Foundation of the CSRA.

The Zaccheaus Project provides patients with needed medical care, diagnostic services and prescription medications, and more importantly, the tools they need to take charge of their illnesses – the necessary knowledge, confidence and motivation – to own their illnesses, comply with treatment regimes and to make appropriate lifestyle changes where needed.

Lamar Medical Center/Beulah Grove Community Resource Center

The Center for Community Health began as collaboration between Beulah Grove Community Resource Center and University Hospital to address those needs found in a 1993 community assessment conducted by the CSRA Partnership for Community Health. The assessment found the 30901 zip code had profound incidences of diseases, crime, poverty, drug and alcohol abuse, a disproportionate high incidence of mental health inpatient and outpatient admission and treatments, and limited access to health care.

In 1996, in response to needs identified by Beulah Grove Community Resource Center, Inc. services were expanded to include a primary health care clinic. On June 3, 2006, the Center for Community Health became the Lamar Medical Center in honor of Ms. Lucy C. Laney’s vision of the first black nursing school in Georgia, Lamar School of Nursing.
